A race organized by runners, for runners!
And here is the third edition of a race that is set to become an indispensable part of the sporting calendar in Finistère. Please note: New date, new courses, and—for the first time—a relay race on the 2023 schedule! Latest news: The UTMA is now the organizer of the Finistère Long-Distance Trail Championship!
We conceived and designed this race for the runners with the goal of showcasing the unique landscapes of the Monts d'Arrée while protecting their beauty and fragility. The wildfires of summer 2022 left their mark on this unique natural environment, so we moved the date up and adjusted our routes—mindful of the role we must play in its preservation. To better meet runners’ expectations at this point in the sports season, we’ve also shortened the course distances. But be warned… The 2023 UTMA will still be a challenging and varied race with 2,300 meters of elevation gain over 65 km. The shorter version of the Tour du Mont, at 35 km and 1,100 D+, offers participants a perfect blend of the Monts d’Arrée’s scenery and atmosphere. Finally, the new relay option makes it possible for pairs to create wonderful athletic memories in the heart of Brittany.
Our race was able to get off the ground and continue thanks to the incredible dedication of our generous volunteers (220 in the 2022 edition) and local organizations, which we will continue to support financially (€5,360 was distributed in 2022).
We also want this to be an opportunity for the runners and their companions to spend an unforgettable day or weekend in this magical region of Inner Brittany.
