Beautiful but ill-suited

"I went on a few runs with the pack almost empty (just my phone and the two 500-ml Kinetik water bottles Kinetik the hydrolock attachment system). Result: I had trouble filling the bottles with the hydrolock system hydrolock I can’t imagine what a hassle that would be at a race aid station with the plastic washers that aren’t attached to the bottles) and felt pain in my ribs because of the bottles’ rigid bottoms. I went on a few runs using bottles from another brand—that was better. As part of my training for an ultra, I tested it again with a full pack under race conditions (I tested the complete kinetik system kinetik bottles and a hydration bladder). Result: I had to improvise a suspension system for the hydration bladder and find a way to attach the hose (using a magnet I found at a competitor’s store). The bottles still hurt my ribs. The front pockets of the pack are too small and poorly placed. The back pockets are inaccessible... The 15L capacity is poorly distributed! I like the brand and the pack’s design, but this gear will stay at the back of a closet (or be used occasionally for short distances)."
